Livingstone Outlasts Falcons 63-59

Ethan Anderson connected two free throws with 32.7 seconds and Mark Thomas converted two more with four seconds to lead Livingstone College to a 63-59 victory over St. Augustine's University.

Thomas scored 18 points and handed out eight assists including six consecutive points to lead Livingstone to victory in the must-see battle.

The game was a battle to the very end. The largest lead came from the Falcons who led by as much as six points early in the first half. Livingstone hit six shots from beyond the arc in seven minutes to maintain the momentum of the first half with big shots coming from sharp shooters such as Jody Hill, Jr., and Anthony Welch. The Blue Bears ended the first half ahead by three points 36-33.

Hill scored 16 points and went 6-for-6 from the free throw line, while Ethan Anderson scored 12 points to round out the Blue Bear double figure scoring.

Tyquan Stroman scored 14 points; Johnathan Crawly added 11 points while Percy Woods paced the Falcons with 10 points.

Livingstone was 21-for-26 from the free throw line for 80.8 percent including six consecutive shots in the last minute of the game. The Blue Bears were 18-of-43 from the field for 41.9 percent while the Falcons were 24-of-62 for 38.7 percent.

Livingstone is now 19-5 overall (New School Record) and 11-4 in the CIAA.  The Blue Bears will conclude their season on Saturday, February 23 when they host Winston-Salem State University. This game will decide who will be deemed CIAA Southern Division Champions. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
