Baltimore, MD- Livingstone College's men's basketball team fought valiantly but fell short in their season finale, losing to Bowie State 68-64 in a closely contested game.
Bowie State took an early lead, but Livingstone kept things tight with several key contributions from their players.
Jamal Cannady Jr. led the way for the Blue Bears, playing for 35 minutes and finishing with 20 points. He had a tough shooting night, going 4-of-16 from the field, but he was able to get to the free-throw line, converting 12-of-14 attempts.
Teon Tiller, although having difficulties with his shooting (1-of-7), contributed defensively and had 3 rebounds.
King Ijeoma played solid minutes, adding 9 points and 6 rebounds, and
James Nipper chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
On the bench, players like
Ta'jae Jenkins, who scored 6 points in 18 minutes, and
Jeremiah Mobley, who added 6 points, kept the energy high but ultimately could not secure the win.
While the season ended on a tough note, the Blue Bears can hold their heads high, knowing they fought until the final buzzer in a hard-fought game. The team will look to build on this experience and regroup for next season.
