Orangeburg, S.C.- In a tough matchup, the Livingstone College men's basketball team fell short against Claflin University, losing 75-62.
James Nipper was the top performer for Livingstone, finishing with 12 points and 31 minutes on the floor. He contributed 4-of-10 shooting from the field and added 4 free throws.Â
Jamal Cannady Jr. struggled with his shooting, going 3-for-13, but still managed to put up 8 points and contribute 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 24 minutes.
Paul Tako also had difficulties with scoring, but his 2 three-pointers helped contribute to the team's total of 8 points.
Chandler Collins-Johnson was limited to just 4 points on 2-of-6 shooting, while
Teon Tiller provided a spark off the bench with 8 points, hitting 3-of-5 field goals, including a pair of free throws.
King Ijeoma grabbed 7 rebounds and contributed 7 points, but his efforts, along with those of his teammates, couldn't overcome the consistent shooting and execution of Claflin.Â
Jacob Hukins had a tough shooting night, finishing with just 6 points on 2-of-10 shooting, including 1-of-6 from three-point range.
Livingstone will head to Shaw this weekend Saturday, Feb 8, game time 4 pm.
