Livingstone Athletics Announces 2010 Football Schedule

Blue Bears Will Play An 11-Game Schedule

SALISBURY, NC – The Livingstone College Athletic Department officially released its 2010 football schedule Monday, a slate of 11 games consisting of five home and six road contests.

 

New Head Coach Elvin James will lead the Blue Bears, who finished the 2009 season 0-10, on the road to open the season on August 28 when they travel to face Virginia State University.  September 4 will be a second road contest to open the season when the Blue Bears travel to Newberry, SC to face Newberry College.

 

Livingstone will then host four of its next five games at home at Alumni Memorial Stadium.  Catawba College will travel across town on September 11 while Bowie State will head south on September 18.  The Blue Bears will face St. Paul's College on the road on September 25.

 

The 2010 Homecoming festivities will be October 2 when the Blue Bears host the Shaw Bears.  West Virginia Wesleyan will come to Salisbury on October 9, for a non-conference tilt.

 

Winston-Salem State, who is coming back to the CIAA for 2010, will host the Blue Bears on October 16 before Livingstone travels to Fayetteville State on October 23.

 

Livingstone will host St. Augustine's College on October 30, which will be the final home game and senior night for the Blue Bears.  The final game of the season for the Blue Bears will be November 6 at Johnson C. Smith.  The contest with the Golden Bulls will once again be the Commemorative Classic and will be hosted at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
