Livingstone College defensive lineman Kenyon Garner continues to make history, earning a spot on the 2025 AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America First Team Defense, announced today by the American Football Coaches Association.
Garner's dominance this season was unmatched. The sophomore from Okeechobee, Florida was named the Willie Davis Defensive Player of the Year by BOXTOROW after leading the nation in tackles for loss (28) and sacks (15). His relentless pursuit of opposing quarterbacks and ability to disrupt plays made him a nightmare for offenses across the country.
The CIAA Defensive Player of the Year finished the season with 55 total tackles, including 39 solo stops, and tied for the league lead with three forced fumbles. Garner also added four quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries, and even recorded one safety, showcasing his versatility and impact on every snap.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 230 pounds, Garner has become the cornerstone of Livingstone's defense under head coach Sean Gilbert. His performance not only earned him national recognition but also solidified his reputation as one of the most dominant defensive players in Division II football.
