Salisbury, N.C. – Livingstone College men's and women's basketball teams will host the Bulldogs of Bowie State University in their second home game of the New Year. The games are set for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at New Trent Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 5.
The women boosts a record of 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA.
A strong second half lifted Livingstone's women to a 68-57 CIAA win over Lincoln on Saturday at New Trent Gym. Livingstone won the rebounding battle and forced 26 turnovers. The Blue Bears (6-4) shot 39.3 percent to win their league opener.
Amber Curtis led the Blue Bears with 16 points.
Wende Foster had 11, while
Alexis Fowler added 10.
Currently head coach
Anita Howard and the Lady Blue Bears are 4-0 in the friendly confines of New Trent Gym this season.
The men's team will be back in action after winning against Lincoln. They will be looking to extend its three game winning streak at 7:30 p.m.
Livingstone was 1-5 in November — all on the road. Since veterans
Ty Newman and
Eric Dubose, both preseason All-CIAA players, returned to the court in December, the Blue Bears are 5-1. They leveled their season mark at 6-6 on Saturday when they finally made their home debut.
Nine Blue Bears scored Saturday. Stinson wouldn't mind seeing 13 score.
