SALISBURY, NC — In front of a lively crowd inside William Trent Gymnasium, the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears closed out the regular season in strong fashion, securing a 61–54 victory over rival Winston-Salem State University on Saturday afternoon.
Livingstone came out energized, taking a 19–14 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and disciplined defense. Despite a cold second quarter that allowed the Rams to inch closer, the Blue Bears regrouped after halftime. Trading leads throughout the third, Livingstone ultimately seized control in the fourth quarter with timely scoring and lockdown defensive stops.
Leading the way was
Jasiyah Crawford, who delivered an electric 20 points, including four three-pointers and three steals. Following behind was
Ny'Asia Green contributed 13 points and six rebounds, providing steady two-way play all afternoon.
Inside the paint,
Breasia Coit turned in a dominant performance, posting 12 points and 21 rebounds—a mark that is believed to be her career high. Seventeen of those boards came on the defensive end, fueling fast-break opportunities and preventing second‑chance points.
Livingstone's team defense stepped up in a major way, finishing with 10 steals, 8 blocks, and holding WSSU to just 25.3% shooting from the field.
For Winston-Salem State, Breonna Roaf paced the Rams with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Alana Biosse added 16 points off the bench.
Maia Charles controlled the glass with 19 rebounds, but the Rams struggled to find offensive rhythm, especially from three-point range, finishing just 4-of-19 from beyond the arc.
The Lady Blue Bears will travel to Baltimore, MD on Sunday, February 22 for the 2026 CIAA Basketball Tournament. Additional information will be released at a later time.
