Searcy has double-double but Lady Blue Bears fall to Pirates

MORROW, Ga. – Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears had a tough afternoon against Armstrong State in the 2015 Heritage Bank Classic in Morrow, Ga. The Lady Blue Bears fell to Armstrong State 102-65 on Friday.

The Pirates (8-0) handed Livingstone (2-2) its second loss in a row. Armstrong State led 27-16 after the first quarter and led 48-32 at the break en route to the 37-point victory.

Livingstone was led by Amber Curtis' 27 points on 9-of-22 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-6 three-pointers and 5-of-9 free throws. Kyala Searcy added 15 points and 12 boards on the day.

Livingstone hit just 24-of-80 shots from the floor (30 percent), while the Pirates finished the game hitting 39-of-85 shots from the floor (45.9 percent). Armstrong State had a 64-43 edge on the glass and also notched 21 assists in the contest.

Livingstone will wrap up its action at the Classic, hosted by Clayton State University, on Saturday by taking on the host Clayton State at 3:30 p.m.
