Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Blue Bears Roll Past Shaw 61–43

SALISBURY, N.C. — Livingstone College women's basketball delivered a commanding performance inside New Trent Gym on Wednesday evening, defeating Shaw University 61–43.

Livingstone set the tone early, outscoring Shaw 16–7 in the opening quarter while holding the Bears to just 14% shooting. The Blue Bears continued to control the momentum at both ends, taking a 29–23 lead into halftime and never looking back.

The Lady Blue Bears' success was fueled by a balanced offensive attack and a strong presence on the boards. Breasia Coit anchored the effort with a commanding double‑double, finishing with 14 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks, and a steal. Nielle Reaves added another powerful performance inside, totaling 12 points and 9 rebounds while providing consistent toughness in the paint. Jasiyah Crawford chipped in 10 points, knocking down two timely three‑pointers that helped extend Livingstone's momentum throughout the night.

Livingstone won the rebounding battle 44–40, including 15 offensive boards, which produced 8 second‑chance points. The Lady Blue Bears also held Shaw scoreless in transition and never relinquished the lead at any point in the contest.

Shaw was led by D'Ayzha Atkinson, who earned a double‑double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Mikyah Finley added 11 points off the bench. However, the Bears struggled to find rhythm, shooting under 21% from the field and committing 17 turnovers.

Join the Lady Blue Bears back at home as we wrap up the season with Senior Day on Saturday, February 21st against Winston‑Salem State at 2 PM — followed by the men at 4 PM.

Let's pack New Trent Gym and celebrate our seniors!
