Salisbury, NC - The Livingstone College men's basketball team defeated Saint Augustine's University 93-76 in New Trent Gymnasium on Monday night.
The Blue Bears had four players to score double figures.
Mark Thomas displayed true leadership from tipoff with his versatility, making his presence known on both ends of the court. He hit three, triples. He ended the first half with 21 points and also distributed the ball properly with five assists in the first half. With Thomas' hot hands it brought the St. Augustine defense to the perimeter, freeing
Cornelius Johnson to dominate in the paint. Johnson grabbed four boards and scored seven points. He finished the game with eight points.

Anthony Welch who came off the bench, and hit three quick buckets to take the lead by 18 points.
By the end of the half the Blue Bears led 43-33 over the Falcons.
The second half was full of excitement.
Eric Dubose with his flashy passes kept the crowd on their feet; while on the court Jody Hill was left open to hit three triples. Dubose finished the game with seven assists.
Eric Mayo played a tremendous down low game, scoring 15 points and snatching 12 rebounds. The Falcons went on a short run, but Mayo posed as a defensive threat.
"The chemistry was there tonight, we all played our role on the court and had great communication with our coaches," said Mayo. "We are happy for the victory and now our focus is on another rivalry, Shaw University."
The Blue Bears protected the ball very well as they only had six turnovers the entire game. They scored 15 points off the 16 forced turnovers on the Falcons.
Thomas finished the game with a season high 31 points and eight assists. Hill added 15 points to the score.
The Blue Bears are now 14-6 overall and 7-4 in the conference.
Livingstone will return to action on February 8 as they travel to Raleigh, NC to face the Shaw University Bears. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.Â
