Baltimore, MD- Livingstone's season came to a close Tuesday night with a 100–77 loss to Bowie State in the opening round of the CIAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
The Blue Bears battled early, but the Bowie State Bulldogs used a hot-shooting first half and dominant interior play to pull away.
Bowie State shot 55.6 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from three in the opening half, building a 44–32 lead at the break. KJ West led the Bulldogs with 24 points, while Jailin Landis added 22 and Jaiden McGhee recorded a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double.
Livingstone struggled to find rhythm offensively, finishing 27-of-79 (34.2 percent) from the field and just 2-of-13 from beyond the arc. Despite the shooting woes, the Blue Bears stayed aggressive inside, scoring 44 points in the paint and converting 21-of-28 free throws (75 percent).
Kenneth Tyree Jr. paced Livingstone with 15 points, including two three-pointers.
Camerin Horton added 15 off the bench, and
Jeremiah Mobley chipped in 14.
Omarion Bodrick provided an efficient 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
The Blue Bears made a brief push in the second half, shooting nearly 38 percent and going 10-of-11 from the free-throw line, but Bowie State's transition offense and rebounding edge proved decisive. The Bulldogs finished with 48 points in the paint and 27 fast-break points, outrebounding Livingstone 43–36.
With the loss, Livingstone closes the 2025–26 campaign with valuable experience gained and a strong core returning. Though the tournament run was cut short, the Blue Bears showed resilience throughout the season and will look to build on that foundation moving forward.
