SALISBURY, N.C. — In a high‑energy matchup inside New Trent Gym, the Livingstone College men's basketball team earned a hard‑fought 89–84 victory over Shaw University on Wednesday night.
Both teams came out firing early, trading baskets throughout an up‑tempo first half that ended with Livingstone holding a 49–47 lead.
The Blue Bears found their rhythm offensively, with four players scoring in double figures.
Jeremiah Mobley set the tone, leading all scorers with 24 points while adding 7 assists and steadying the team during key possessions.
Jacob Hukins Jr. followed with a sharp shooting night, totaling 19 points and knocking down five three‑pointers.
Off the bench,
Camerin Horton provided a valuable spark, finishing with 10 points and 6 rebounds, and
James Nipper added 11 points, doing most of his damage at the free‑throw line.
Livingstone shot 48% from the field, 44% from three, and 71% at the line, making the most of timely baskets and late‑game execution to secure the win.
Shaw countered with strong performances of their own, led by Avery Huggins with 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Isaiah Buckley, who finished with 20 points.
