Salisbury, NC- The Livingstone college women's basketball team rallied from a 12 point deficit to defeat their cross-town rivalries, Catawba College, 58-55 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Blue Bears went into the locker room down 25-17. Livingstone's aggressive defense cut the lead to one point in the second half to 43-42 with 8:22 left in the game.
With time winding down in the second half, the Lady Blue Bears were led by dynamic duo,
Cierra York and
Tiffany Evans offensively. On the defensive side
Wende Foster was a powerhouse under the basket as she led the Lady Blue Bears with a game high 14 rebounds (10 defensive).
Livingstone was led in scoring by York who scored 20 points, 14 points in the second half. Evans followed her performance with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Ashley Walker also paced the Lady Blue Bears with eight points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Blue Bears shot 43 percent from the field and 54 percent from the free throw line.
Livingstone improves to 4-4 overall.
The Lady Blue Bears will return to action on December 3 as they host Queens College. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
