Lady Blue Bears Drop 54-51 Decision

The Livingstone College women's basketball team fought late in the second half, but the Chowan University Lady Hawks held on for their 54-51 victory over the Lady Blue Bears.

Jasmine Murray finished with a double-double as she led the Lady Blue Bears with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Tiffany Evans paced Livingstone with 13 points.

Although the Lady Blue Bears dominated in rebounding (50-33), a poor shooting percentage of 26 percent was the root to Livingstone's demise. Also, the Lady Blue Bears couldn't stop the hot hands of Talaya Lynch who finished with 22 points.

With 2:16 remaining in the game, Evans' three pointer cut the lead to eight points. Kelcyn Manurs aggressiveness with less than 30 seconds left aided in the Lady Blue Bears cutting the lead to just a three point game, however, time wasn't on Livingstone's side.

Livingstone drops to 6-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

The Lady Blue Bears will return to action on January 19 as they travel to Raleigh, NC to face Shaw University. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
