Final Stats

SALISBURY, NC
– The Livingstone women's basketball team was unable to put together a complete game Tuesday night as Catawba erased a 17-point, first-half deficit to down the Blue Bears 91-77.

The game was a tale of two halves.  Livingstone came out on fire in the opening half, knocking down 60.7 percent of its shots from the field.  Freshman Cierra York got the scoring started on the first possession for the Blue Bears with a long-range three-pointer.  After the Indians cut the lead to 3-2, a 7-0 run by the Blue Bears gave them a 10-2 lead less than two minutes into the contest.

Catawba got only as close as four points with 15:52 remaining in the first half before the Blue Bears were able to open up a double-digit advantage with 13:56 on the clock.  Livingstone hit its largest lead of the first half of 17 points with 6:39 left in the half and took a 43-32 lead into halftime.

The second half was a complete turnaround from the first.  Livingstone's lead stayed in double-digits through the first three minutes of the second half, but Catawba was able to erase the 11-point halftime margin less with 12:31 left in the contest.  The Blue Bears weren't going to let that lead vanish and regained a five-point lead with 10:18 remaining.

Trailing 61-56, Catawba went on a 10-0 run to grab a 66-61 lead with 8:13 left on the clock.  The Indians increased their lead to 10 points with 5:53 left, but the Blue Bears were still alive and well.  Livingstone went on a quick 7-0 run in less than a minute to cut the deficit to 74-71 with 4:50 remaining, but Livingstone's run was met by a 7-0 run by the Indians which ended any Blue Bear comeback attempt.  Catawba outscored the Blue Bears 17-6 over the last 4:42 of the game to win 91-77.

Kelcyn Manurs led the Blue Bears with 19 points.  Also in double figures was Jasmine Murray with 12 points and Montiya Harrison with 10.  Murray also grabbed seven rebounds.

Livingstone shot 45.2 percent from the field for the game including only 23.8 percent from three-point range.  Catawba shot 46.4 percent from the floor including 65.6 percent in the second half.

The Blue Bears will take a break until Thursday, December 1 when they host Barber-Scotia at 5:30 p.m. inside New Trent Gymnasium.
