Kayler McBride Named to 2010 All-CIAA Team

HAMPTON, VA – Livingstone's Kayler McBride has been named to the 2010 All-CIAA Team as voted on by the CIAA Coaches Association and announced by the league office Friday.

 

McBride, a senior guard from Ocala, Florida has led the Blue Bears in scoring all season and coming into Friday's contest McBride had averaged 15.8 points per game.  Her scoring average leads the Blue Bears and is fifth overall in the conference.  Out of 22 games this season, McBride has failed to score in double digits in only five.

 

McBride has been a solid three-point shooter for the Blue Bears this season, connecting on 61 three-pointers.  McBride's 61 three-pointers ranks her first in the CIAA, 20 ahead of any other player.  McBride also ranks fourth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage, hitting 31 percent of her attempts.

 

McBride started the season with a bang, scoring 45 points in two games at the Lincoln University Tournament.  Her performance not only earned her tournament MVP honors, but she also won the league's Player of the Week award.

 

The 2010 All-CIAA team will be honored at Tuesday's tip-off luncheon prior to the start of the tournament.  The full women's All-CIAA team is as follows:
