MISENHEIMER, NC – The Livingstone men's basketball team was plagued by turnovers Monday that Pfeiffer was able to capitalize on as the Blue Bears fell 99-87 to the Falcons in the consolation game of the I-85 Tournament.
Sophomore forward Greg Henry led the Blue Bears with 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Also in double-digit scoring was junior guard Jarred Stockton with 21 points and senior guard Aaron Caruthers with 16.
Livingstone got out to an early 6-3 lead behind a three-pointer by Caruthers, but the lead was short-lived. With Pfeiffer leading by only one at 9-8, the Falcons went on a 22-3 run to increase their lead to 21 at 32-11 with 9:28 to play in the first half. Pfeiffer's 20-point advantage stayed in tact for most of the remainder of the first half and the Falcons led 55-32 at the break.
In the second half, Livingstone was only able to get as close as 11 points to Pfeiffer and that was with just under three minutes to play in the game. Pfeiffer held on for the 99-87 victory.
As a team the Blue Bears connected on 48.5 percent of their shots from the floor, but only 17.6 percent from beyond the arc. Livingstone committed 26 turnovers for the game which led to 38 Pfeiffer points.
Livingstone will be back in action on Saturday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. when they open conference play by hosting Elizabeth City State.
