We kicked off the inaugural HBCU Hoops Invitational with an inspiring start! After traveling to sunny Orlando, we had the incredible opportunity to visit the ESPN Wide World of Sports, a truly special experience and an honor to be part of this historic tournament.
The day continued at State Farm Arena, where we attended the Sports Symposium featuring three impactful panel discussions:
The symposium featured three powerful panel discussions:
- Health & Well-Being – Led by three doctors (including a pediatrician, a therapist, and an orthopedic specialist), this session emphasized the importance of mental health for student-athletes and the need to take proper measures to keep your body healthy and game-ready.
- Financial Literacy – Focused on learning the fundamentals of finance and investing, helping athletes build a strong foundation for their future.
- Life After Sports – Highlighted strategies for transitioning beyond athletics and finding success in new careers and opportunities.
These conversations were not only informative but empowering, setting the tone for what this event is all about—growth, preparation, and opportunity.
With Day 1 complete, we are getting well-rested and ready for Day 2 – Game Day! On Saturday, Dec. 4, we face Hampton University at 2 PM inside State Farm Arena. Stay tuned for all the action!
