Livingstone Falls to Lincoln (PA.), 73–63

Oxford, PA- The Livingstone College men's basketball team dropped a 73–63 decision to Lincoln University (Pa.) Sunday afternoon. The Blue Bears stayed within striking distance for much of the contest, showing fight on both ends of the floor, but Lincoln was able to pull away down the stretch to secure the win. Livingstone battled through key moments and continued to compete late, but could not close the gap in the final minutes.

Livingstone opened the game competitive on both ends, heading into the break down 36–34 after shooting 41.2 percent from the field in the first half. The contest featured multiple lead changes and remained tight early in the second half before Lincoln began to pull away behind efficient scoring at the free-throw line.

Kenneth Tyree Jr. led the Blue Bears with 16 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc and going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. James Nipper added 12 points, while Jacob Hukins Jr. and Jeremiah Mobley each contributed eight points off the bench. Livingstone finished with 25 bench points and held advantages in points off turnovers (20–14) and second-chance points (17–10).

Despite forcing 20 Lincoln turnovers, Livingstone struggled shooting in the second half, finishing the game at 32.4 percent from the field. Lincoln was paced by Bonard Johnson's game-high 19 points, while Ginuwine Tropnas added 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Lions also went 21-for-26 from the free-throw line to help secure the win.

Livingstone looks to bounce back on Wednesday, Dec. 31, as the Blue Bears host Converse University in a New Year's Eve matchup scheduled for 2 p.m.
