Livingstone Women's Basketball Falls to Elizabeth City State 92-85

Elizabeth City, N.C.- The Livingstone College women's basketball team came up short in a high-scoring contest against Elizabeth City State falling 92-85. 

Bria Griffith led the team with 24 points on 9-14 shooting and perfect from the free-throw line (6-6). She added 4 rebounds and 4 steals in 25 minutes. Samiyah Briggs was another bright spot, scoring 20 points, shooting 7-13 from the field, including 2-3 from beyond the arc. She also contributed 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 2 steals in 30 minutes of action.

Morgan Kelson had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, also playing a key role on both ends of the court. She went 7-16 from the field but was held scoreless from the free-throw line. Nielle Reaves and Thalia Carter combining for just 8 points on 3-14 shooting from the field.

The Blue Bears put up a strong fight, but struggled to contain Elizabeth City State's offensive attack, particularly in the second half, as ECSU found their stride and extended their lead.

Livingstone will look to bounce back when they travel to Virginia State on January 9. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
