SALISBURY, N.C. - Ny'tavious Huskey has announced his commitment to Livingstone after a historic career at Crest High School.
Huskey spent the last three seasons as the starting quarterback for the Crest High Chargers, located in Shelby, N.C. A modest performance in his sophomore year was followed up with record-breaking seasons during his junior and senior seasons, leading to the young QB being highly recruited.
In his sophomore season, he posted solid numbers, throwing for 1,112 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added another 512 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. While he showed promise in his sophomore season, the following year is where Huskey made a huge leap.
His junior season saw him pass for an astounding 3,206 yards and 42 touchdowns. He continued to dominate on the ground as well, rushing for another 728 yards and eight touchdowns, totaling 3,934 all-purpose yards and 50 total touchdowns. He'd lead the team to a 9-4 record and conclude the season as the 4th overall-ranked statistical high school quarterback in the state of North Carolina.
While he certainly showed a lot of promise after his junior season, he'd take yet another step forward in his senior campaign. He led the team to 13 straight victories and a spot in the NCHSAA 3A West Football semifinals. During his final season, he compiled career-high 3,663 passing yards and 45 touchdowns. He accomplished all this while adding another 623 yards and seven touchdowns in the run game.
"I chose to commit to Livingstone because of the coaches, they believe in me and it feels like family [here]" said Huskey. "It's a privilege to play HBCU football at Livingstone college."
