Salisbury, NC- Livingstone College celebrated Senior Day in style with a dominant win over Virginia University of Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Bears set the tone early, marching 87 yards on their opening drive, capped by a 21-yard touchdown run from quarterback
Elijah Alexander.
After a back-and-forth second quarter that saw VUL tie the game twice, Alexander connected with Ronald Lindsey for a 58-yard touchdown to reclaim the lead. VUL responded quickly, but Livingstone's offense and defense took over in the second half.
Alfredo Sotelo found Lindsey again for a 9-yard score, and
Jayden Reeder added a defensive touchdown with a fumble recovery in the end zone.
David Jones powered in a 1-yard touchdown run to close out the third quarter, and the Blue Bears added a safety and a 25-yard touchdown run by
Javen Parker in the fourth to seal the win.
Jason Zapata was perfect with extra points, going 6-for-6.
Livingstone improves its momentum heading into next weekend's Homecoming matchup against Shaw University, set for Saturday, Nov 1 at 2 PM.
