LC Tumbles at Shaw

RALEIGH - Livingstone's men's basketball team lost 88-78 at Shaw on Saturday despite putting five in double figures.

Ty Newman led the Blue Bears in the CIAA contest with 17 points.

Also scoring in double figures were Daryl Traynham (13), Eric Dubose (12), Ramel Belfield (11) and Jimmy Wilson (10).

Newman had six assists, while Traynham registered five.

David Madol led Shaw with 19 points. Junior guard Larry Richardson II scored his 1,000th point.

Livingstone (7-10, 4-7) forced 19 turnovers while committing only nine, but Shaw (9-14, 6-5) shot better. Shaw shot 50 percent from the floor and was 10-for-20 on 3-pointers.

THe Blue Bears return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 10 as the host the Broncos of Fayetteville State. Tip-Offi is set for 7:30 p.m.
