Thomas Scores Season High 36 Points Against Shaw

Livingstone College's Mark Thomas sharp shooting helped the Blue Bears overcome the Shaw University Bears 83-76, with his career high 36 points. He made 10-of-17 shots from the field goal and made five three pointers.
The Blue Bears improve 15-6 overall and 8-4 in the CIAA.
The game against the Shaw Bears went both ways throughout the evening. The lead changed 11 times with the score being tied seven times. The Blue Bears found breathing room in the second half after taking an 11 point lead over Shaw. 
Livingstone played good team basketball in the first half and knew Thomas was on fire. Within the first five minutes of the game he had already made five-triples. He also found fellow teammate Jody Hill who added 13 points to the win. 
Eric Dubose paced the Blue Bears with 12 points. After a steal by Anthony Welch, Dubose's fast break gave them an 11 point advantage the Shaw Bears tried to cut, but was forced to put Livingstone at the Line. In the remainder of the game Dubose's 8-for-8 shooting kept the Blue Bears alive for the win.
Livingstone forced the Shaw Bears to commit 20 turnovers. The Blue Bears scored 27 points off those turnovers. 
The Blue Bears will return back to action on February 12 as they play host to the Broncos of Fayetteville State University. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
