The Livingstone College men's basketball team defeated the Morris College Hornets 108-78 in their home opener at New Trent Gymnasium.
Junior
Eric Mayo(Shelby, NC) led the Blue Bears with his double-double night of 19 points and 13 rebounds. He also recorded two blocks. Senior
Mark Thomas(Saginaw, MI), an All-CIAA preseason team selection, added his 20 points to the score.
Darresse Johnson (SO., Wilmington, NC) accounted for the Blue Bears 54 percent shooting against the Hornets. Johnson scored 15 points and six rebounds; four offensive and two defensive.
The Blue Bears controlled the entire game with
Eric Dubose's (SO., Brooklyn,NY) 10 points and three rebounds.
Livingstone are now 1-0 on the season.
The Blue Bears travel to Charlotte, NC on November 15 to compete in the JCSU Tip-Off Classic. Livingstone will take on Lees-McRae College at 6:00 p.m.Â
