Salisbury NC- Following the women's victory earlier in the doubleheader, Livingstone men's basketball kept the winning momentum rolling with a 62–51 win over Elizabeth City State on Monday night at William Trent Gymnasium.
The Blue Bears trailed 30–28 at halftime but responded with a strong second-half performance, outscoring ECSU 34–21 after the break. Livingstone's defensive intensity proved to be the difference, as the Blue Bears held Elizabeth City State to just 32.8 percent shooting from the field and limited the Vikings to 19.0 percent from three-point range.
Kenneth Tyree Jr. led Livingstone with 17 points, providing steady offense throughout the night.
Jeremiah Mobley added 14 points off the bench, while
Jacob Hukins Jr. contributed 11 points.
Omarion Bodrick anchored the defense and dominated the boards with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Livingstone will travel to Claflin University on Saturday, Jan. 17, with tipoff set for 4 p.m.
