Bowie, MD- The Livingstone College men's basketball team staged a strong second-half rally but ultimately fell to Bowie State, 77–72.
Livingstone trailed 44–30 at halftime after a slow start offensively, shooting just 25.8% from the field in the opening period. The Blue Bears came alive in the second half, hitting 52.2% of their shots and outscoring Bowie State 42–33, but couldn't overcome the early deficit.
Kenneth Tyree Jr. led Livingstone with 11 points and two steals, while
James Nipper added 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. Off the bench,
Wisdom Rogers and
Jacob Hukins Jr. provided a spark, combining for 19 points.
Bowie State was paced by Guy Fauntleroy, who scored a game-high 20 points and dished out nine assists. Joseph Allen added 17 points off the bench.
The Blue Bears continue their road stretch tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16, when they face the University of the District of Columbia. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
