Elizabeth City, NC – Livingstone College football came up short in a high-scoring contest against Elizabeth City State University, falling 39–27 on the road.
The Vikings struck first with a 1-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter, but Livingstone quickly responded as
Elijah Alexander connected with
Tavion Jackson for a 67-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7–7.
Elizabeth City State took control in the second quarter with a 73-yard touchdown run and continued their momentum into the third, scoring three consecutive touchdowns through the air to build a 33–7 lead. Livingstone answered with a 2-yard touchdown run by
Elijah Alexander to close out the third quarter.
In the fourth, ECSU added another score before Livingstone mounted a late push.
Chris Washington caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from
Elijah Alexander, and Ronald Lindsey added a 7-yard touchdown reception from
Salomon Georges Jr. to bring the final score to 39–27.
Despite the loss, the Blue Bears showed resilience and offensive firepower, especially in the second half.
The Blue Bears will look to bounce back next Saturday, October 11, when they travel to Fayetteville State University for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
