SALISBURY, N.C. - For the second time this season, Livingstone softball faced off with Carolina University, this time on their home field. The Bruins put forth a strong effort, forcing run-rules in both games, winning the first 17-1 before taking the second, 13-1.
Game One
Despite the loss, the Blue Bears managed to strike first in the top of the first inning, as
Raquel Talley drew a bases loaded walk to score
Natayah Abdul-Hakim and give the team a 1-0 lead. Livingstone managed three hits that game, off the bats of
Cianna Bullock,
Khala Porter, and
Symone Abraham.Â
Game Two
Much like the first game, Livingstone managed to get on the board first. Abdul-Hakim knocked one of her two hits on the game to get on base and used some tricky base-running to score on a sacrifice fly, using her speed to force two throwing  errors and eventually cross the plate. She had two of Livingstone's three hits, with the other coming from
Sinai Cisneros.Â
Next Up
The Blue Bears conclude the home portion of their schedule this Friday, April 19 with a CIAA doubleheader against Johnson C. Smith at 11AM and 1PM.Â
