Dunbar, W.V.- The Blue Bears kept their winning streak alive with a thrilling 63-60 victory over Davis & Elkins College.
Leading his team was
Jamal Cannady Jr., who dropped 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. Cannady also added 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Paul Tako also had a great performance, contributing 10 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in 25 minutes. Tako was efficient on offense, shooting 4-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.
King Ijeoma continued his strong play, adding 9 points and 6 rebounds. Despite a challenging shooting night, Ijeoma's presence on the court and defensive efforts were key in the Blue Bears' victory.
The team was able to hold off a late push from Davis & Elkins, with
Ta'jae Jenkins scoring 7 points and
James Nipper adding 6 in support.
Erick Coffey also provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 6 points on a perfect 2-of-2 shooting from the field.
With their second consecutive win, the Blue Bears are off to a strong start this season and will kick off their first home game on Saturday, Nov. 16th, when they host Carolina Christian at 4 p.m.
