SALISBURY, N.C. - Livingstone men's basketball sent the Golden Bulls packing Tuesday evening, winning 77-71 in thrilling fashion. The Blue Bears trailed by as much as 13 in the game, but remained resilient and used strong play in the paint to cut the deficit and come out on top.
The story of the game was points in the paint, heavily in favor of the Blue Bears. Livingstone outscored Johnson C. Smith 50-30 in the paint, consistently showing a strong presence and creating problem both there and on the boards, as they out-rebounded the Golden Bulls, 49-42. Livingstone was led by
Khyree Temple, who eclipsed his second double-double on the season with 13 points and 13 points. He played a huge part in Livingstone's defensive presence, swatting away season-high five blocks. Freshman
James Nipper was back in the starting lineup for the Blue Bears, concluding the game with 11 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
The win improved Livingstone to 8-10 and 4-5 in the CIAA while JCSU falls to 10-7 and 5-5 in the CIAA.
