Salisbury, N.C. - Livingstone football continued its hot streak Saturday evening, winning its fourth game in the past month by taking down St. Augustine's, 34-14. The win helps the Blue Bears improve to 4-5, winning four of their last five, while St. Augustine's falls to 0-9.
Livingstone got the scoring party started early in the first quarter, as
Brenton Hilton found
Angel Carrillo across the middle for a seven-yard score to put the Blue Bears on the board.Â
On the ensuing drive,
Osmanis Aguilera found his way to the quarterback on a pass play, stripping the ball which was scooped up by
Kobe Pringle and brought back to the endzone for Livingstone's second score of the quarter, taking a 14-0 lead.Â
Later in the game with time running out in the half, the Blue Bears found themselves in the redzone hoping to extend the lead before halftime.
Marcus Drish took the snap and dropped back to pass, before scrambling to his left and eventually finding the endzone, extending Livingstone's lead to 21-0 heading into the break.Â
St. Augustine's would find the endzone in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 14, however Livingstone got one back one play into the fourth quarter, as Drish threw a perfectly-placed ball into the back corner of the endzone to
Davontay Deloatch to re-gain a three-score lead. Livingstone would soon add their second defensive score on the day, as
Cameron Harris picked off a poor-thrown ball by the Falcons and took it to the house.Â
