BOWIE, Maryland – Livingstone Volleyball (0-7,0-5) dropped a 3-0 decision (21-25, 20-25, 21-25) to Lincoln (3-7, 1-4) Sunday afternoon at McKeldin Gym.
Livingstone hit .120. The Blue Bears recorded 23 kills and 16 assists, three aces, one block, and registered 37 digs.
Lincoln hit .183.
The Lions hit 35 kills in the match with 33 assists, nine aces, and two blocks.
Doris Ajagbe led the Blue Bears with six kills, while Tiffany Chandler and Ja'Nya Lunnermon finished with eight digs.
Set 1
- The Lions went on a 7-0 run to take an early 7-1 lead.
- The Blue Bears cut the Lion's lead by three with a big kill by Taylor Grant, 12-9.
- later in the set, the Blue Bears went on a 4-0 run and got within two of the Lions.
- The Lions closed out set one with a 2-0 run, 25-21.
Set 2
- The Blue Bears got another late start in set two.
- A couple of 3-0 runs brought the Blue Bears within five, 21-16.
- The Blue Bears interrupted the Lions with a quick 2-0 run but Ultimately, the Lions closed out set two, 25-20.
Set 3
- The Blue Bears and Lions battled in set three.
- The Blue Bears had a couple of 4-0 runs to hold a two-point lead over the Lions, 11-8.
- The Lions regained their lead with 5-0 run, 13-11. The Blue Bears regained their lead after a 3-0 run, 18-17.
- The Lions went on another 5-0 lead to go up 23-19. The Blue Bears tried to battle back, scoring their last two of the set.
- Ultimately, the Lions closed out the match with two errors by the Blue Bears.
