ROANOKE, Virginia – The Livingstone track and field program continued its 2022-2023 season at the Bast-Cregger Invitational which was highlighted by Two school records, 24 men's personal records, and 15 women's personal records. "This was a really good test for us as we head into the Christmas break," said head coach Justin Davis.
Final Results
The most impressive performance of the day came from freshman Sydney McDonald in the 1000 meters and 600 meters. McDonald took second in the women's 1000 meters and set a school record with a time of 3:18.06. The previous school record time was 3:20.01. McDonald also took second in the women's 600-meters and set another school record with a time of 1:41.79. The previous school record was 1:43.37.
Curtxavier Fryson took first place in the men's 1000-meter run with a time of 2:41.17. Chad Axon placed fifth in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:56.22.
Darren Wharton finished sixth in the 1000-meters with a time of 3:00.37. Jayden Mungo closed it out for the Blue Bears taking ninth with a time of 3:09.86.
Tanniya Womack finished eighth in the women's 1000-meters with a time of 3:43.31.
Cameron Snead set a new school record in the men's long jump with a jump 7.00 meters, the previous school record was 6.93 meters. Snead finished second in the men's long jump and set a personal best. Followed by Marcus Cook placing fourth (6.68), Jayden Mungo finishing seventh (6.44 m), and Jaime Mitchell taking eighth (6.36 m).
E'Kwon White placed third in the men's shot put (13.95 m). Tyler Wagner finished second in the 60-meters with a time of 6.88. Lydia Chapple took fourth in the women's 60-meter with a time of 7.88.
Track and Field athlete of the week David Bradford continued this weekend finishing second in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.30.
Mungo also placed top ten in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.60.
Several men finished top ten in the triple jump at the Bast-Cregger Invitational including, Cameron Snead ( 2nd, 14.17m), Marcus Cook (3rd, 13.97 m), Jaime Mitchell (4th, 13.89 m), and Luis Azar-Moise (5th, 13.89 m).
Asiyah Clifton placed third in the women's triple jump (10.20 m). Dajaneen Alejandro-Ortiz finished
Several men placed top 10 in the men's 200-meters including David Bradford (22.30), Tyler Wagner (22.41), and Keilan Strader (22.45).
Lydia Chapple ( 3rd, 26.23), Amaya Williams (6th, 26.52), and Charity Collins (7th, 26.63) led the Blue Bears in the women's 200-meters.
Closing out the meet, the men's 4x400-meter team (Bradford, Wagner, Gilbert, and Strader) took second with a time of 3:25.44. The women's 4x400-meter team (Fair, Collins, Deloatch, and O'Neal) also finished second with a time of 4:09.97.
