Justin Davis

Justin Davis is in his 15th season as the Head of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/ Track & Field teams at Livingstone. This is Davis’ second stint at Livingstone. He began in 2005 as the jumps coach and track and field strength and conditioning coach where he stayed for two seasons before spending two seasons as a track & football coach at North Rowan Middle School. Davis was brought back to take over the helm of the program in the Fall of 2008.
 
During Davis’ collegiate coaching career he has overseen a program that has produced 18 Division II National Qualifiers, one of which is a 12-time NCAA DII All-American, National 200-meter, and three-time National 400-meter Outdoor Champion (Quanera Hayes). While at Livingstone, Hayes has also competed at two USA National Championships. Under the guidance of Davis, he has been able to produce nine CIAA Cross Country All-Conference athletes, 72 total indoor and outdoor CIAA All-Conference athletes, 17 Atlantic All-Region selections, two USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Athletes of the Year. 1 CIAA Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the year; 22 CIAA Indoor and Outdoor Conference Champions, 1 USTFCCCA Academic All American as well as breaking 49 school records. 
While the success on the track has produced many achievements Livingstone Track team also received five CIAA Highest GPA awards as well as six USTFCCCA all-academic teams (three men and three women). Coach Davis is the 2012 Livingstone College Coach of the year. Before Davis took the lead, the women’s Track and Field team took a two-year hiatus from Conference Championships, Davis has spent time rebuilding the program to the prominence and success of previous years. Upon Davis’s arrival, the Livingstone Track & Field team had less than 15 members. The team has now grown to over 50.
 
Davis received a BA from Western Carolina University in 2005 in Communication/Theatre Arts. During his collegiate athletic career, Davis helped guide the Western Carolina men’s track and field team to a 2004 Southern Conference Championship and the birth of a SOCON powerhouse. After being three-time All-Conference and one-time conference champion in the long jump as well as All-Conference in the triple jump Davis sought to continue his jumping career but was halted due to a knee injury. A Dean’s list student, Davis was also named as Most Valuable Player in Field Events in 2004 while also serving as Team Captain.
 
 Justin Davis is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. A native of Salisbury, NC, he is the son of Benjamin and Suzette Davis. Davis is married to the former Lakeshia Otto and they have one son, Nolan Sean Benjamin (2), and one dog, Bentley (5)
