Volleyball Rolls Past Virginia University of Lynchburg on Senior Night

SALISBURY – Livingstone Volleyball (2-17,0-14) defeated Virginia University of Lynchburg in 3-0 decision (25-4, 25-5, 25-4) (0-4) Tuesday evening at New Trent Gym.

Livingstone ht .478. The Blue Bears recorded 24 kills and 20 assists, 29 aces, and registered 14 digs. 

The Dragons hit three kills in the match with two assists, three aces, and six digs. 

Taylor Grant led the Blue Bears with ten kills and seven aces. While Tiffany Chandler finished with 12 aces and four digs. Aubree Reyes registered 11 assists.

Set 1

  • The Blue Bears went on a 10-0 run to start set one. 
  • The Rams took a five point lead over the Blue Bears with a 4-0 run, 18-13.
  • The Blue Bears went on a couple more 5-0 runs to go up 22-4 over the Dragons.
  • Ultimately, the Blue Bears took set one, 25-4.

Set 2

  • The Blue Bears got up early with a 8-0 run over the Dragons, 8-2.
  • The Dragons would cut the Blue Bear lead to three, 8-5.
  • The Blue Bears would keep the Dragons scoreless for the remainder of the set.
  • The Blue Bears would go on a couple more 6-0 runs to close out set 2, 25-5.

Set 3

  • The Dragons scored the first point in set three with a error on by the Blue Bears.
  • The Blue Bears went on 7-0 run to go up 7-1. 
  • Another 6-0 run put the Blue Bears up 13-2.
  • An attack error by Cailyn Coleman gave the Dragons their last point of the set.
  • The Blue Bears closed out the match to win set three, 25-4.
