Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

LC Men's Basketball Falls to JCSU, 91-84

CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team limited visiting Livingstone to just 44.4% shooting in the second half but wasn't enough for Livingstone as the Golden Bulls won 91-84, in a CIAA Southern Division matchup on Saturday night at Brayboy Gym.

Roger Ray led all scorer with 30 points. He went 11 of 22 from the field including a 5 of 7 mark from the free throw line against the Golden Bulls.  He also dished five assists and had two steals on the night.  Teammate Cameryn was the only other Blue Bear to score in double figure chipping in 13.

After being down 41-39 at halftime, both teams traded baskets until JCSU took a six point lead with 13:34 to go in the half.

The Blue Bears would trim the lead to one point on two occasions down the stretch, with the latter coming after Lydell Elmore converted a layup with 8:50 to play.
JCSU would then go on to make 4-of-5 free throws down the stretch provided the 91-84 final.

The win improves JCSU to 8-15 overall, 5-11 in CIAA play and 4-6 in the Southern Division while Livingstone falls to 15-9, 8-7 in CIAA play and 6-3 in Divisional play.

The Blue Bears will hit the road for their next game, traveling to Claflin on Monday for a Southern Divisional battle with the Panthers.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m
