In a battle of division unbeatens, Livingstone used a strong inside game to lead Fayetteville State in points-in-the-paint (32-20) despite being out rebounded (43-31) but FSU's efficient shooting in the second half (48% from the field) helped propel the Broncos to a 71-63 win Monday evening in Capel Arena in Fayetteville.

As the halftime margin shows,(30-29 FSU at the break) the two teams were closely matched, however with the Broncos leading 52-51 midway through the second half, FSU went on a 10-2 run over the next five minutes to extend its lead to the final margin of victory.

LC was led by Roger Ray with 23 points. Lydell Elmore added 10 points with Jalen Fykes coming off the bench to add 10 points and eight rebounds.

Fayetteville State was led by Mark Burton with 16 points, Jalen Seegars with 15 and Darian Dixon with 12.

With the win, FSU stays undefeated at 9-0, CIAA 3-0 while Livingstone falls to 7-3, CIAA 3-2.

After some time off, the Blue Bears return to action Monday (Dec 16) when they travel to Maryland to fact the Bulldogs of Bowie State University. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. at the A.C. Jordan Arena.
