LC Men's Basketball drops two in Atlanta

ATLANTA - Livingstone's men's basketball team improved offensively on Sunday but couldn't slow down Clark Atlanta in a 91-76 road loss.

The Blue Bears shot 46.2 percent for the game and 50 percent in the second half, but Clark Atlanta shot a torrid 60 percent in the second half and made 12 3-pointers in the game. David Duncan led the Blue Bears (2-6) with 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Shukur Jinad scored 12 points, and Darryl Bond and Ramel Belfield added 11 apiece. Livingstone's large edge on the boards was negated by losing the turnover battle, 17-9.

Livingstone led 14-3 early in the contest, but Clark Atlanta moved in front, 44-35, by halftime.
Livingstone got within four points on several occasions in the second half before Clark Atlanta finally pulled away.

Five Clark Atlanta Panthers (7-4) scored in double figures, led by Derek Harper (20) and Tim Sanders (18).

The game was part of the L.S. Epps Memorial Basketball Challenge.

Livingstone's men's basketball team lost to Albany State, 83-74, on Saturday afternoon in a game played in Atlanta. The game was played as part of the CIAA-SIAC Challenge.
Roger Ray, a 5-foot-8 freshman guard, led the Blue Bears with 16 points.

David Duncan and Ramel Belfield scored 10 points each. Belfield made two of Livingstone's three 3-pointers. Duncan also had 10 rebounds.
Livingstone had the edge on the boards and pulled down 16 offensive rebounds, but the Blue Bears shot only 37 percent.

Michael Green scored 23 points for the Golden Rams (5-5).
