LC Drops Another Road Game

SALISBURY, NC - Livingstone's men's basketball team made a spirited rally on Monday but still lost, 73-70, to Chowan.

The game was played at Roanoke-Chowan Community College in Ahoskie because of "court conditions" at Chowan.
Chowan (12-3, 5-0 CIAA) won its seventh in a row.

Livingstone (7-9, 2-3) CIAA fell behind by 17 points after 12 minutes and was looking at a 36-19 deficit.

But by halftime the Blue Bears were back in the game, trailing 41-35.

Livingstone caught up at 43-all early in the second half, and it was a battle from there.

With Livingstone leading 58-55 with just under five minutes left, Kortez Smith got a big three-point play for the Hawks.

Marco Haskins had a key 3-pointer for the Hawks for a 69-64 lead with 1:27 left.

LC's Eric Dubose had a 3-point look that would've forced overtime, but he missed with one second left.

Smith led the Hawks with 18 points.

Jimmy Wilson scored 18 for the Blue Bears. Daryl Traynham added 15, and Ty Newman had 10.
