In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Livingstone College volleyball team dedicated their match against Voorhees College to not only raise awareness, but to raise funds for breast cancer research. The Blue Bears swept the Tigers in three straight sets (25-10, 25-9, and 25-15).
Voorhees College was no match for the Blue Bears or the fans in Trent Gymnasium. Livingstone was led by senior
Phylicia Egbuna's 17 kills and three service aces. Freshman
Ebony Moore 10 powerful kills showed the Blue Bear fans what they can expect from her in the future. The Tigers couldn't stand up to her kills. Moore also tallied two blocks.
LaPria Saunders also aided the Blue Bears in the win over the Tigers with a game high 35 assists.
Livingstone will conclude their season with a senior night tri-match on Thursday, November 1. The tri-match will include the Blue Bears, Morris College and Virginia University of Lynchburg. Livingstone will play the 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. game.
