Livingstone Athletics Hall of Fame
Michael Posey was born on December 20, 1977, in Greensboro, North Carolina, one of Pamela Posey’s eight children. Pamela Posey is his strength and the source of his inspiration. He is currently engaged to the love of his life, fiancé Lucrezia Baker. Michael has four children Micaela Sprinkle age 19, Mayknzie Sprinkle age 16, Carter Posey age 13 and Cayden Posey age 8.
Michael started playing sports at a very early age. In 1990 he won Best Defensive Back and a Greensboro, NC Mite football league city championship with the Peeler Pirates. Again, while attending Lincoln Middle School Michael won Best Defensive Back in 1992. While attending James B. Dudley High School Michael was named to the All-Conference and All Guilford County Football Teams. His senior year he was named Defensive Back of the Year. Three sport lettermen in Baseball, Track & Field and Football.
Livingstone College: Michael graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated Gamma Delta Chapter. Michael had a vital practice role on the 1997 CIAA Championship Team. The following season gained the starting position on the 1998 CIAA Championship team. In 2001 was named Livingston College Most Valuable Back and All CIAA Football Team. In 2001 Michael was named to the All CIAA Track & Field Team and NCAA Division II Track & Field All American. During his senior year he played in the East Coast Bowl recording a 62yd interception return, punt return for 32 yards and 6 tackles. Michael also played in the nationally televised Cactus Bowl All Star Game in Corpus Cristi, TX. Where he recorded 4 pass deflections, 4 tackles and 1 punt return for 37 yards. In 2002 Michael was named Livingstone College Male Athlete of the Year.
Upon graduation Michael was invited to the Buffalo Bills tryouts in NY where he recorded the fasted 40-yard dash time of 3.9 and 4.0 seconds. Signed a three-year deal with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League. Later released and begun his career in education. He has been an educator for the past 16 years and real estate investor for the past 8 years.
