PETERSBURG, VA – The Livingstone College men's track and field team concluded its 2026 season with a sixth-place finish at the CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, highlighted by a standout performance from Jamir McCrae, who captured an individual CIAA conference championship.
McCrae's title marks a major achievement for the Blue Bears and served as a key highlight of the meet. As a team, Livingstone recorded placements in 12 of the 17 events contested throughout the championship.
Virginia Union secured the overall team title, with Johnson C. Smith finishing second in the standings.
Leading the way for the Blue Bears were several standout performances:

Matthew Blackmon – 2nd place, 110m Hurdles (14.39)

Quinn Barber – 3rd place, Pole Vault (3.50m)

Anthony Sims – 3rd place, Pole Vault (3.50m)

Brandon Jeffers – 4th place, 5000m (16:02.57)

Anthony Collins – 5th place, High Jump (1.94m)
•
Marqui Cheeks – 5th place, Shot Put (14.85m)
The Blue Bears will return to action May 9–10 at the Lenoir-Rhyne Last Chance Meet as they look to improve marks for potential national qualification.
