CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Livingstone College junior Aaliyah Dalrymple has been selected to participate in the Future Leaders in Football Fellowship, an initiative designed to provide HBCU students with valuable professional experience and exposure to career opportunities throughout the football industry.
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®), in partnership with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), announced the selection of four CIAA students for the fellowship. Dalrymple joins JaQwestn Little of Fayetteville State University, Ja'Miah Elliott of Winston-Salem State University and Divija Manneni of Johnson C. Smith University as the CIAA's representatives.
A Sports Management major, Dalrymple currently serves as an athletic intern at Livingstone College, where she has become an integral part of the Blue Bears football program. Her passion for athletics, dedication to student-athletes and commitment to her work have helped establish her as an emerging leader within the program.
In her role, Dalrymple has built meaningful relationships with student-athletes while demonstrating a strong commitment to their well-being, development and success both on and off the field. Her confidence, compassion and dependability have also fueled her desire to pursue a career in the football industry.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be selected for the Future Leaders in Football Fellowship," Dalrymple said. "This experience will allow me to grow professionally, gain valuable knowledge and build relationships that will help me as I pursue my career in sports."
The Future Leaders in Football Fellowship provides selected participants with a stipend to work within their institution's football program throughout the season. Fellows gain hands-on experience in areas including athletic training, scouting and recruiting, football operations, equipment and video.
For Dalrymple, the fellowship provides an opportunity to build upon the experience she has already gained at Livingstone while receiving additional mentorship and exposure to professionals working throughout the football industry.
"Creating pathways for our students to gain meaningful, hands-on experience is central to how we prepare the next generation of leaders," said CIAA Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams Parker. "The Future Leaders in Football Fellowship allows these four outstanding students to take what they are learning in the classroom and on our campuses and apply it in an environment that can open doors throughout the football industry."
Livingstone College Athletics congratulates Aaliyah on this well-deserved achievement and looks forward to watching her continue to make an impact on the Blue Bears football program and the sports industry.
