Bodrick Anchors Livingstone Defense, Earns CIAA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Charlotte, NC — Omarion Bodrick proved to be a stabilizing force for Livingstone during a pivotal two-game stretch, anchoring the Blue Bears' defensive identity with consistent rim protection, physical rebounding, and disciplined positional play. The senior forward logged an average of 34 minutes per game, finishing the week with 19 total rebounds, five blocks, and three steals, effectively limiting second-chance opportunities and deterring opposing teams from attacking the paint.

Bodrick's impact was most evident in Livingstone's January 12 matchup against Elizabeth City State, where he delivered a dominant defensive performance in a 62–51 victory. He controlled the glass with 14 rebounds and rejected three shots, repeatedly altering attempts around the rim and forcing the Vikings into difficult, contested looks. His presence allowed Livingstone's perimeter defenders to apply pressure with confidence, knowing the paint was well protected.

He followed that effort with another strong showing at Claflin, recording two blocks and two steals while continuing to control the interior. Even without relying on offensive volume, Bodrick's defensive awareness, timing, and physicality consistently disrupted opposing game plans and set the tone for Livingstone's defensive approach.

Through his commanding presence in the paint and ability to control the glass, Bodrick provided steady leadership on the back end, helping Livingstone remain competitive during the stretch. His contributions did not go unnoticed, as he earned CIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for his impactful play.
