Salisbury, NC – Livingstone College is thrilled to announce a major collaboration with the United States Tennis Association of North Carolina (USTA NC) for an exciting Tennis Tailgate event aimed at engaging students and promoting the sport. This vibrant gathering will take place on March 27, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, leading up to the highly anticipated tennis match between the Livingstone College Tennis Team and Johnson & Wales University, which will start at 2:00 PM.

This event is particularly significant as it marks the second occasion in 20 years that Livingstone College will host a match on its brand-new tennis courts. It also represents a milestone for USTA NC to collaborate with us being the very 1st HBCU for this initiative, highlighting its commitment to supporting both HBCU's and adult tennis, alongside celebrating the leadership of North Carolina's first Black woman president of the association. Leading the charge is the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Affairs, who oversees tennis and golf at Livingstone College and is a product of USTA & USTA North Carolina Tennis. With her leadership, this event marks the start of a promising future for tennis at the College.

Coach Marlon Henderson is excited to kick off the 2025 tennis season, and the event offers a fantastic opportunity for the community to engage with the Livingstone College Tennis Team.

Participants can look forward to tennis activities, a cookout, and a chance to connect with the Livingstone College Tennis Team. We are expecting an attendance of 50 to 75 people for this vibrant celebration of tennis and community spirit.
