Charlotte, NC- Livingstone College women's basketball made headlines in Week 4 of CIAA play, as two Lady Blue Bears earned top conference honors for their outstanding performances.
Jasiyah Crawford was named Player of the Week after delivering one of the most complete stretches of play in the league. Her week began with a dominant showing against Carolina University, where she stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and an incredible 8 steals in a 77-41 victory. Crawford's impact didn't stop there—she continued to steady the offense during the HBCU Hoops Invitational in Orlando, scoring in double figures in both games. Her crowning moment came against Bethune-Cookman, where she recorded a rare triple-double (11 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists), proving she's a do-it-all guard capable of lifting her team in every facet of the game.
Meanwhile, Breasia Coit claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors thanks to her commanding presence in the paint. Coit opened the week with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks against Carolina, setting the tone for her defensive dominance. She followed that with a monster 17-rebound performance against Hampton and closed the week with another double-double versus Bethune-Cookman. Across three games, Coit totaled 41 rebounds and 6 blocks, anchoring the Blue Bears' interior defense and showcasing her reliability as a rim protector.
Together, Crawford and Coit embodied the grit and versatility that define Livingstone basketball. Despite tough matchups on the road, their efforts proved that the Lady Blue Bears are a force to be reckoned with in the CIAA.
