Salisbury, NC- The Livingstone College women's basketball team battled hard but came up short in a 74–70 loss to Barton College. The Lady Blue Bears showed grit and determination, clawing back from a double-digit deficit to make it a one-possession game late in the fourth quarter.
Breasia Coit delivered a career-high 33 points, shooting an impressive 13-of-18 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, recording her second double-double of the season and establishing herself as the offensive centerpiece for Livingstone.
Supporting Coit, Jasiyah Crawford added 12 points and 4 assists, while Nielle Reaves contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds. Livingstone dominated the paint with 38 points inside, but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 3-of-15 three-point attempts (20%).
Barton College was led by Celeste Bailey and Layne Sleight, who each scored 15 points. Barton's bench provided a spark with 26 points, helping them maintain control despite Livingstone's late rally.
The Lady Blue Bears close out 2025 with a 1–10 record and will look to regroup in the new year. Their next matchup is an exhibition game at UNC Greensboro on January 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM, a key opportunity to build momentum heading into CIAA play.
