Livingstone Hosts XC Invitational; Men Win Team Title, Women Finish Fourth

Salisbury, NC – This morning at Salisbury Community Park, Livingstone College hosted the Livingstone XC Invitational, welcoming men's and women's cross-country teams from Winston-Salem State University, Averett University, Johnson C. Smith University, Guilford College, Northeastern Technical College, and Warren Wilson College.

Women's 5K Results
Livingstone finished 4th overall with 80 points. Winston-Salem State claimed the top spot with 25 points, followed by Averett (57 points) in second, and Johnson C. Smith (66 points) in third.

Leading the Lady Blue Bears was Tasyanna Hughes, who placed 5th individually with a time of 22:05.16.

Men's 8K Results
Livingstone dominated the men's race, finishing 1st overall with 28 points. Winston-Salem State followed with 43 points, Guilford placed third with 61 points, and Johnson C. Smith came in fourth with 78 points.

The Blue Bears were led by Brandon Jeffers, who turned in a strong performance, finishing 2nd with a time of 26:02.24.

Livingstone Cross Country heads to Salem, VA on Thursday, October 23rd for the CIAA Cross Country Championship. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
