Fayetteville, N.C.- In a thrilling, back-and-forth contest, the Lady Blue Bears edged out Fayetteville State in overtime, 68-66.
Leading the charge for the Lady Blue Bears was
Thalia Carter, who played an incredible 41 minutes, scoring 17 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 1 assist and 1 steal.
Morgan Kelson was another standout, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Off the bench,
Breasia Coit provided a spark, shooting an efficient 7-for-9 from the field to finish with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Coit's ability to score and rebound at key moments helped Livingstone maintain its composure during the tense overtime period.
Despite some difficulties from the field,
Samiyah Briggs contributed 9 points.
Bria Griffith also contributed 6 points and 8 rebounds.
With the win behind them, the Lady Blue Bears now look forward to their upcoming matchup against Winston-Salem State at home on Saturday, February 1, at 2 p.m.
